Megan DeLeeuw and Kris Hirth present “Eating Seasonally” at Manchester District Library

strawberriesOn Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 7pm, Megan DeLeeuw from Hand Sown Farm and Kris Hirth from Old Pine Farm will present “Eating Seasonally” at Manchester District Library. The presentation is free and open to the public. Learn how CSAs (Community Supported Agriculture) let you fill the pantry and freezer with locally grown meat, fruit, and vegetables.

Hand Sown Farm is a small-scale, intensive vegetable and fruit farm nestled on 10 acres within Sharon Township, MI. Old Pine Farm, also in the Manchester area, sells pasture-raised beef, pork, chicken, lamb and occasionally emu.  Animals are free-range, pastured and fed organically as much as possible, with no growth hormones or animal by-products. Humane treatment in all aspects of the animals’ lives is the top priority.
