The March book selection is Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris.
It’s likely you’ve heard Sedaris reading one of his humorous essays on National Public Radio (and you can listen to some of them online, here), but “humorous” doesn’t really do him justice. Dry, self-deprecating, and roll-on-the-floor funny would be closer to the truth.
Me Talk Pretty One Day is a collection of essays that address the human inability to communicate — from kids speaking to parents, to learning to speak another language.
Grab a copy at the library (audio book copies are available too) and read along, then join us for discussion on Wednesday, March 27 at 7pm in the Village Room.
