titles for reluctant readers

graveyard-book-neil-gaimanQuoting from Raymond Chandler, “a good title is the title of a successful book.” The other part of this quote should be “and the book should jump off the shelf because the title is so appealing to them.”

Youth Services Assistant Karen Seghers has created a special display at the bottom of the main staircase, near the Tween collection, to feature books for guys and girls that she hopes will intrigue the reluctant reader.

Reading anything and everything increases reading fluency and speed, so a variety of items will be included on the display. You’ll notice magazines, graphic novels, and interesting non-fiction in the mix along with novels.

Karen hopes that checking out these books will get kids hooked on reading and encourage them to read more (and more and more)! Check out the display during your next visit.
