DIY Science Kits Available to Check Out at Manchester District Library

Manchester District Library is pleased to invite teachers, parents and others in the community to come to the library and check out a science kit. Each of the kits includes all the information and equipment needed for a family or small group to perform a science activity. The themes of the kits include “Night Sky,” “Simple Motors,” “Straw Rockets,” and “the Solar System.” The kits may be checked out for 1 week with a valid library card and are appropriate for ages 7 and up.

Funding for the kits was provided by a grant from IEEE, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Manchester District Library is excited to be one of the recipients of the IEEE Science Kits for Public Libraries Grant. The purpose of the grant is to generate enthusiasm for science and interest in science and engineering professions.

For more information about the kits and related programs, call 734.428.8045 or stop by the library.
