The Michigan Department of Natural Resources and the Library of Michigan have partnered up again this year to provide free access to Michigan’s great state park system. Manchester District Library card holders may “check out” a park pass to use at any Michigan State park, recreation area, Michigan Historical Museum System site or museum. The program began April 1st and runs through October 1st, 2012.

The park pass is good for one day of a 7-day loan period and covers the motor vehicle permit fee (state parks and recreation areas). This $10 savings also provides one-time free access to more than 500 events taking place in state parks throughout the summer, and to make the day even more relaxing, some of the state parks are offering the loan of a hammock. Please call ahead to confirm park hours and amenities before your visit.

Passes may be checked out at the library’s circulation desk. For more information, email or call Circulation Supervisor Kathleen Dimond at kdimond@manchesterlibrary.info or 734-428-8045 x208.
