Friends of the Library Donation Day

The Friends of the Library are a small but dedicated group of volunteers who raise money for library programs through the on-going book sale on the second floor.

This Saturday, Oct. 10, from 10am-noon will be the last Friends Donation Day until spring. The volunteers will be taking a break for winter due to holidays and inclement weather. The new Donation Day schedule will be posted as soon as its determined. Until then, please hang on to those wonderful used books, audio books and movies so that you can bring them in later.

If you’d like to help the Friends, you can apply to join the group and offer your time and assistance with fundraising projects like the book sale (applications are at the circulation desk).

Or you can shop the on-going book sale on the 2nd floor of the library, right by the elevator doors. It’s a great place to find a good read since there’s a wide selection and it’s updated frequently. Payment is by donation, and the Friends use the proceeds for programs and events. For example the Summer Reading Program, which reaches all ages and draws great participation, has been funded almost entirely by the Friends for the past 3 years.

Thanks for your support!
