We’re very happy to welcome back the UM Exhibit Museum of Natural Science and their Winter Family Science Workshops. These are great programs for elementary-aged kids and their families!
The first workshop, “Water Wonders: What is water and what can it do?” will be held on Sat. Jan. 22 from 10-11 a.m. The second session, “Water World: Water = Life,” will be on Sat. Feb. 12 from 10-11 a.m. And the third session, “Water Wisdom,” will be on Sat. Mar. 5 from 10-11 a.m.
Since the goal of the program is to help families discover science together, and since the workshops include some hands-on experimentation, children should have an adult with them during the session (one parent or other adult for every 2-3 kids should be fine). Museum staff are firm on the age range, though (6-11) — please, no kids who haven’t at least started kindergarten. There’s no charge to participate, but you MUST pre-register by calling 428-8045 or talking to a staff person at the front desk. You can register for one session or for all three.
For the full schedule and more information about each session, see the library’s web site.
