Manchester District Library was created in 2000 by the residents of Bridgewater, Freedom and Manchester Townships and the Village of Manchester. The library is a member of The Library Network, participating in the Shared Library Automation System and receiving delivery 5 days a week. District residents can also use their library cards at Chelsea, Dexter, and a number of other TLN member libraries (see the list of TLN libraries here).
The Library is governed by an 8-member Board of Trustees. Two Trustees are assigned from each participating Township, plus the Village. Board members for 2007-2008 are:

Regular Board meetings are held the 2nd Monday of every month at 7pm in the Council Chambers at 912 City Rd., Manchester MI 48158 (enter building from the back parking lot). Library Trustees are volunteers appointed by their Township Board or Village Council and receive no monetary compensation for serving on the Board.
